.seems like a decision based on too little information and too much concern for liability. I sure hope that it gets replaced by a pedestrian /bike bridge.

I don't "want" anything. I do expect that a review of options will be done, and clearly this is a multi-year project. I doubt "do nothing" is an option, demoing the bridge is probably the bare minimum.

I vote for the name "Insta Lake". Its the 21st century, for chrissakes. No more archaic naming of lakes after animals that are locally extinct or implements or terms of phrase nobody uses anymore. The pioneer days are over. Its time to get contemporary. A close second or third would be Texting Lake or Selfie Lake, because you can stop at the lakeside and send texts or take a selfie of yourself at the new lake, flashing faux gang handsigns for emphasis.
