if it makes you feel better about yourself i should probably give you two.

Read the first two of 5 pages and stopped.

I've ridden Fromme twice. The first time I rode about 50% as I was just hanging
out and talking to someone from nsmb and we had just met, so the conversation
was good, big woop. Second time, I rode till just past Pipeline and walked 50% of
the rest. Some in our group hauled ass pedaling and made it 10+ minutes before
me, and some walked 90% of the way and showed up 5-10 minutes after me.
When we got to the bottom, I can safely say we all had the same amount of fun.
I was riding my demo 8 both times.

You know this is how the BS starts right? Surfing in the 50's-60's everyone was
welcome out in the water. It was one big surfing fraternity, and because you surfed
you were "in". Then foam and glass boards showed up, then short boards, and boogie
boards, now SUPs. The long boarders say you don't have soul riding a short board.
Then there's the long boarders that say if you wear a leash you're lazy. Then the
short board guys hate on the long board guys saying they're being lazy and catching too
many waves.

For fuck sakes, ride your bike…you are no better than the next guy because you
have a big bike/small bike/pedal up/clipless/flats/whatever. Not everyone is riding
a bike for the same reasons you do, and they don't enjoy the same aspects of
riding as you do. So while you may not understand why everyone doesn't want
to get into shape, or why they don't enjoy climbing (even on trails), many don't
understand why you don't like drops or jumps. You don't like wearing armor?
So what, some people don't want drains in their elbows from the rocks embedded
under their skin. And, their jobs don't allow for many of the injuries armor prevents.
I'd have a hell of a time, climbing around on barges and hauling up 3/4" wire
cable bridles 20' onto the barge with stitches.

You don't have to pedal up, you don't have to walk up, you don't have to be like
them, so why does anyone care what other people do?

Hey, I'm not gonna pedal my 50 lb. sled the whole way up Fromme. But I have just as much fun riding down than anyone else. HiBullitT has it right.

Maybe some of the people who think the Fromme road is too easy should push bigger gears and a heavier bike. Then it would be a great workout and they could show off their fitness prowess.

Really, who cares? Ride bikes, have fun; no judgement needed.

That's cool if they do. All I'm saying is who cares? As long as the individual is happy, then life is good.
