im moving into k-town early next spring.whats the riding like? i hear silverstar i sick…….what else ?
riding in kelowna?
I'd love to know as well. Checking out Silverstar for the first time next weekend, but would love to try out other local trails.
Lots of sick trails, I'm moving there sept. 1 but have already been out a couple times. Call up outbound cycles in rutland or westbank for trail info. Trails to ride are powers, builders only, postil and a few others. Good luck. Silverstar's also definatly worth the 60-90 min drive.

Bumping an old thread, but there you go.
Any suggestions for XCish rides in Kelowna?
Heading up the first weekend of May. Taking our HTs.
Any bike store suggestions to buy maps and/or trail guide book?
Also, anyone have a bike friendly hotel suggestion?

I'm curious about this as well - Kelowna is on the list of spots to road trip this summer. What is the trail I've seen that goes through the burned out forest? It looked gorgeous when I saw it…

For a quick hit in town, try Knox Mtn. We did it a couple of times on a trip last month. Ride up from the hotel, up the road, down the single track, back to hotel in under an hour. It's a good workout, but only about 7 minutes of single track if you ride up the road. You could also ride up the single track for a longer and perhaps more rewarding time. The views of the city and lake are also quite nice. Lots of different ways down.
It's a tourist trap though, so be warned of the hoards. We road it the last day leaving the hotel at 6:30am, so not many people were about yet.

Gillard is awsome. Leave the XC bike at home for that ride though. Was up at Gillard last summer and rode XC hard tail. Beat the hell out of myself. Got smart this year and bought a Norco six 1. Can't wait to ride Gillard again but with a more suitable bike. Riding through the burnt trees was pretty cool.
