Hello boys [HTML_REMOVED] girls,

Some of you know who I am. Most of you don't. I'm a lurker here, don't post much but sure reads around.

I've signed up for 2010 RIDE TO CONQUER CANCER as I've done it last year and absolutely loved the ride.

Unfortunately, my cancer came back this year. I'm still thinking of doing the ride but that's up in the air depending on how I feel as I'm undergoing chemotherapy right now.

To raise money for 2010 RIDE TO CONQUER CANCER in support of BC CANCER FOUNDATION, I'm thinking of doing a shuttle service up Seymour, during weekdays or weekends (yet to be determined) in between my chemo treatment.

I have an 8-seater vehicle and has a NSR-4 Rack. I might be able to borrow a roof-mounted bike rack too so I can fit a total of 6 bikes perhaps.

Would this be a feasible idea? This question is for you boys and girls who loves to shuttle (like me)?

I'm thinking of charging $20 per person per shuttle. Might sound too expensive but remember, ALL PROCEEDS (ALL MONEY LESS GAS COST) WILL GO TOWARDS MY FUNDRAISING FOR 2010 CONQUER CANCER.

Insurance may be a question. It's a NON-PROFIT NON BUSINESS USE. I'll be covered (so will you) by ICBC but your bikes will not.

So this is a waiver you will have to accept if you chose to ride the shuttle service.

Any thoughts?

Firstly, im sorry to hear that your cancer has returned, and wish you the best with getting healthy again, and you will.

Im doing the ride too, and have only come up with this idea to boost my fundraising:

I cant answer the legal aspects of the shuttle service, but it may work well. If it gets together post again and i will gladdly contribute/shuttle with your service.

Good on ya Eugene, what a great idea and an excellent cause. It's a really cool event, my wife did it last year and raved about how well done it was.

Shitty to hear your cancer is back. You have beat it before and you will beat it again. Cheers bud.

KoolHandZ, did you end up riding this weekend? How did your fundraising go?

This trip to Kelowna was definately an undertaking - Liam and I had been planning this project for 24 hours. We worked really hard to pull out all the stops in this video. We had slo-mo goggle shots; time lapses; pedal flips; outrageous product shots; unloading and loading the bike; walking through the field with your hand in wheat. At the end of the day this trip was all about just getting out and riding with all my friends.

Hey Gotham!! Ya I did the ride, all 258kms of road glory!

Was able to raise $10,938 for this year, and already banked $1,780 for 2011 Ride to Conquer Cancer.

I'd encourage you guys to participate on this amazing event, you think you can ride? Try riding 258kms in two days. Your ass and legs will hurt halfway through, but the comaraderie and feeling of crossing the finish line is worth the experience.

This was my second year doing it, and I'll be doing it again next year.

Not sure of the legality of shuttle service but I've always had a couple of fund raising ideas that I know would work on Seymour.

1. Sell tubes and changing flat service at the end of Pinch flat alley by the road on Seymour.

2.Set up a "lemonade" stand at the bottem. Guarantee you'd make more money in a day selling cupcakes and lemonade to every rider than running the shuttle.
