Redbull Bike Battle wrap up

Whoa, what a day. Some crazy riding went down and i was really stoked to be part of it. There were so many crazy things that went down i wouldn't even know where to begin, i'm sure you'll see the photos and video of it went it all comes out.

The best part for me was riding with all the sickest riders and having a hell of a lot of fun on and off the course for the whole day.

Chris rode super solid and kicked some serious ass, qualifying 8th overall and then going on to knock out von williams in the first round, j. gregorowitz in the second and NARROWLY getting knocked out by chase in the third, it was CLOSE. He had his lines dialed… smooth 3's stomped off the drop in, sick-ass 540 transfers, huge bunnyhop barspins, fakie wall rides and all around solid, smooth technical riding showed everyone Chris is still at the top of this game.

Shaums busted out what i think was the surprise ass kicking performance of the day with some big lines all over the course mixed in with tech tricks, and a backflip too. Damn!

Ya, that event was awsome. They put up the pictures online at www.redbullbikebattle.com I thought Shaums did awsome, but I had to leave 30 min early for a friend so I missed the end. The best part was when Shaums and Berrecloth went together. Too bad I didn't bring a camera, came earlier, or stayed latter.

It was a sick event indeed.

Kudos to all the riders that were able to tough it out to surpass the semi's. Its amazing how long 2 minutes can be when yer rippin around a course throwing down your best/most solid moves.

It was an honor to be invited and was even better to have a good time and do well.

Props to Niggla for a good trip and a huge thanks to Marc at Fast Times Inc for putting us up, and putting up with us! :D

You guys left it all out there man. I am still shaking my head and digesting all the shit that went down. Looking forward to chilin with a pop and watching the footy. You made me proud to be a canuk. Good on ya!

I don't think people know enough about Shaums. He is a bike rider first and foremost. He was also the US NAtional BMX Champ in the early 90s, the only black guy to podium in a NORBA DH, and he has done well at the Red Bull events including the Rampage and Ride as well as one of the coordinators for the Freezeride and a coach for his own mad march racing camps. He kicks ass.

He is also married to Alicia Cline who is 4 times gold medalist in the X-Games for skiier X and once held the world record for speed skiing at 135 mph. SHe could also be a pro DH/Biker X mountian biker if she wanted to as she is literally the fastest woman I have ever seen on a mountian bike excluding A-C.
