When people are riding up the road on Seymour it's worth having some sort of blinking light on the back of your bike. This is especially true for the section between the first switchback and where Old Buck crosses the road. In that section riders are often in the shadows and in the afternoon the sun is in driver's eyes, so if you're wearing dark coloured clothing you're fairly invisible until cars are right on top of you.

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

Second this. I usually grab my rear light off my road bike for days I plan on climbing the road but forgot it once and felt pretty vulnerable in the shadows, enough so that I was riding off onto grass at times when I heard cars coming. At least there isn't much traffic compared to Cypress.
