Enduro is still trendy until we are marketed some other word to describe riding a bike in a more downhill orientated direction on a single-track trail

since Enduro _is in _italics I take it you mean Euro Enduro
but even the current form of stage downhill racing that is called _Enduro _is not like the original moto enduro. The transfer sections between the special stages are still run time distance style, so that would mean you should still pedal at a medium xc speed and be penalized if you are too slow or fast, so you are nearly always moving at medium speed or faster and the word Enduro makes sense

this would be a pretty boring place without a few dissenters / contrarians to stir shit up a bit. opposing viewpoints are great - as long as they're presented in a somewhat coherent manner with a pinch of logic thrown in for good measure.
