i don't know why this bugs me a bit but it does, so bear with me a bit here if you will.
as a key part of the nsmba i understand that you're passionate about what you do and unfortunately get exposed to lots of differing opinions in an often less than graceful manner. however, as someone who is an obvious face for the nsmba here on the boards, i don't think it serves you or the organization well when you participate in the war of words that seems to exist over certain trail issues. poking the stick back at people who have apparent issues with the trailwork being done doesn't help things work more smoothly.
it's one reason i've always had a high level of respect for Mat Bond as he handles these sorts of things with great diplomacy - he manages to get his point across contructively without adding to the barking that keeps going on.
I agree with this comment.
Pretty sure that some people have tried to get permits to restore Starfish in the last 2-3 years, but were unable to get them. I do not believe it is correct to say that there is no one out there who will work on the trail if given a chance.
I understand that trails like Starfish do not have the same importance as other projects that are more accessible to all, but it would be nice if there was a way to also keep some of the old-school trails alive.
