Oregon has some insane riding.
Bend is home to some epic singletrack, amazing people, and a real cool atmosphere. Ask arround town, you'll get directions. people there are just stoked on the outdoors.
Hood river oregon houses some really nice freeride stuff, hidden off in the woods. The local bike shops should be able to tell you where to go. there are a few people on here from the pdx area… look arround.

Fear me. I have a Cabin in montana.

you should check out golden because you have all other outdoor activities like hanggliding, parasailing, hiking, whitewater rafting plus many more. when i went i had no complaints. people were super nice, scenery was amazing and there are a lot of babes in golden.

bring me bj

life is like the sickest trail you can ever think of. it keeps on going, over all the bumps and mud, through the beautiful breezy grass, past the stunning epic views and sailing in the air during the hangtime. and at the end we all roll on ok, ready for yet another trail. another day.

Its really a tossup….both will net some amazing singletrack…both will be fun. One is close and will be less expensive = more time riding as well…the other will have foreign trails but most likely less riding time.

Mic…that trail is just amazing. At one point the river disappears into the ground…and comes up in the most amazing blue green pool…at one point you can see that in one of the videos. I grew up 100 yards from the river…I do miss it…and the epic all day singletrack…but I LOVE the island…must find more epic singletrack on the south island (shakes fist at lack of IT jobs in the comox valley)!!!

Does anybody know how the weather is in Bend in mid November, can you still ride there or is it too cold or too wet? Had a look in the web and it looks like they don't get too much rain but it seems pretty cold. What condition are the trails in at this time of the year? Muddy, snow covered or ridable? Any recommendations for a good cheap B+B?

thanks

check on mtbr.com in the Oregon section - lots of info there + links.

Bend is high desert country - cold + snowy winters. You'll do well there after March, April. November is the end of the shoulder season.

There are a few other riding destinations in Oregon - Post Canyon + Hood River + Black rock come to mind.

a quick question to vancouver island riders, is there a good amount of long (vertical descents) there? as someone stated there are lots of non-shuttle trails, i don't mind climbing at all so that is cool. i like shore riding and i know there is some real crazy stunt trails, (20 foot drops, huge gaps, etc) but are there lots of say singleblack type of trails, great descents?
thanks
