I heard that he did gap the group but they caught his cameraman and confiscated any footage.

I've got mixed feelings about it. Props for a large jump and all, but I worry about how the Tour fans and riders see it.

Mulletron, youve got a good point, but i think its great publicity, especially for road sponsors and fans to see how hard mountain bikers push themselves everyday, and to give out sport a bit o respect for hucking, and whatnot. imo pro mountain bikers should gt paid as much as roadies, if not more, maybe this is the publicity stunt needed :P

It is definately publicity, but it is hard to say at this point if it is good or bad press. The roadie scene is not as "forgiving" (for lack of a better word) as our scene, and I hope it is not seen as disrespectful.

Either way, I'll believe it when I see it. Lets not run with this until we know for sure if its true. :)

Guys, its all good! Watson did it, he's OK, we'll see the footage, and everyone is pumped. There's so much crap going on with the tour (protests, naked fans, etc.) and it's strange that there's been no mention, but what do you expect from the UCI. Props to Watson and his big balls!

There you have it. Sounds like nobody is crying about it, so…cool! Lets see it!

Yeah that's rad.

In a selfish publicity stunt he put a whole bunch of people at risk. What it he would have slipped a pedal or slid out on some crap on the run in (it happens, ask Darren Butler) and landed on someone who has trained for years to race the tour.

What if…what if…what if…hindsight will always be 20/20, and fortunately in this case nothing happened. Personally I'm stoked and I can't wait to see this footage.

I troll shitty posters like yourself, because it's amusing to watch you skidmarks get all riled up.

My 20/20 hindsight will see it for what it is.

A gimmick that unnecessarily put others at risk.

Disrespectful… yes.
Dangerous… yes.

Cool… definetly. :coo: :agree:

It is better to regret something you did, rather than to regret something you didn't do.
