I'm on my Yeti ASX/Breakout Plus. I think it's a great bike for the course. To the guy above I would say ride that Specialized all the way. That bike is perfect.

I think I'm going to be riding the course this Sunday if you see me say hi. Bike's all black and I have a grey XC lid.

I'm trying to register as a mixed team… won't let me though.
Any ideas?

does the $26 cover me for additional races? the only other race i want to do this year is the rat race. do i need to buy a one-event license for that in addition to the $26 for the ripper?

or can the one-event license be used for the ripper too?

^ you say your time and we'll tell you if it's good or not.

Did the snow up there melt yesterday? I did it on Monday or Tuesday (I forget which one now) and there was like 8" of snow on the road coming up to 7th…

36 minutes up 24 minutes down. I'm a bit too slow going down on the x country bike.
As of Wednesday you had to walk the last bit to 7th through the snow. As of yesterday at 7pm it was rideable all the way.
Props to Peter for doing such a great job on that trail

Anywhere from 40 minutes to almost an hour, depending on fitness and riding skill.

2 years ago, I rode up in about 26 minutes, my partner rode down in about 16 for a 42 minute total. Winning climb was about 20 minutes last year?

My 26 up wasn't very fast, but 16 down is pretty damn quick! I put in about 15 minutes last year for the descent and ~14 minute descent last week. I think about 34-35 minutes will win it this year for the team relay, but the solo might be about 42 or so.

Is that dorky enough?:P

All that sounds awfully fast. Are you sure that's not somewhat exaggerated?

No exaggeration. I raced solo 2 years ago and saw them. Bryon even did the dowhnill on a hard tail

yeah wayne's very fast. after I finished my run in the UOC ripper last year, I hiked back up to watch Shandro do his thing. He was smooooth, but for mine, wayne was smoother. I remember asking the group of spectators who he was because I reckoned he was going to beat Shandro and I was told it was Wayne Parsons. Later we saw that Andrew won by 1 sec. but I think it was a fix so Andrew wouldn't look bad.

You're too nice Peter. You never saw me at the top, I was all over the place! I hit a tree for no apparent reason. Same with the uphill log ride, I fell off. I was giving it 99%, and Andrew was going at about 60%.

ride a horse! 1200 pounds of raw muscle, power, grace, and sweat between your legs…
