New Fromme Trail

Maybe I'm behind the times here, and certainly hope I'm not posting about anything secret - although it's definitely not the most secret place…

Yesterday climbing up to 7th on the road, I noticed a trailhead off to riders left of the road just before the 7th switchback. There was a young guy on a hard tail who told me it was a new trail. Didn't see a sign anywhere.. what is this mysterious trail? It looked like a loamer exited the other side of the road leading in.

On a side note.. Is pink starfish worth riding these days?

Riding up toward the 7th switchback, riders left would be uphill. The only trail near 7th is an old trail that was in pretty bad shape a couple of years ago. I think it is called Squeaky Elbow.

THere are no new trails on Fromme.

He was probably coming down squeaky elbow (I think that's what it was called) - an old trail that may seem new. Not worth the extra climb imho.

all of Squeaky Elbow was clear on Friday, except the exit. Big Deadfall.

I still like it, but I am a freak.

Squeaky is old, one of the oldest. Not much climbing past 7th to trailhead, but not really much descending either. I don't recall anything very interesting on the trail, feature-wise. Haven't ridden that line for probably 10+ years!

If you see something that looks like a trail ride it, find out for yourself.

It's usually a great way to waste all that climbing you've done.

If there is a new sanctioned trail, it'll be announced on this site with fan fare. If it's an unsanctioned/hidden/secret, no one is going to admit it on the forum because its unsanctioned/hidden/secret.

Lastly I have encountered "Young Guys" talking about new trails…. Maybe new to them but usually it's a long since forgotten relic in pretty bad shape.

15 years ago, that's how we all found the great trails that we still love but don't have to brag on the boards about.

Meh - don't bother. Its poorly aligned [HTML_REMOVED] people who worked on it will only work on it at their convenience. Also its terrible in the wet. Someone should do something about that. Also there are no triple teeter totters on it

Probably Dangerous Dan so folks could watch him ride.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.
