Coiler is one of the oldest most natural trails on cypress. Not much you can do if you have a bad crash. I hope neither the trail nor the sport is blamed for this tragedy,
I second this thought…..oh well,ride on brother.

was doing laps on coiler yesterday. A freak accident like this on a relatively mellow trail like coiler really puts the danger inherent to our sport in to perspective. Hope theres not another west van chainsaw massacre.
RIP
Terrible news. So sad to hear, RIP.

^i'd say it puts the random inherent danger of life in perspective. statistically speaking, what we do is pretty safe (from a mortality perspective). however life is unpredictable, and fleeting. get out and do what you love to do to the best of your ability - while you can.
rip, whomever you are.
Mountain biking is a sport that many people participate in because it is a passion. If the man that passed away was like anyone I ride with; he was doing something he loved.
I sincerely hope that his family can find comfort knowing that he passed away enjoying life.
My sincere condolences to his family.

This is alarming news that there was a fatality,i would be pretty spooked if someone i was with died on a ride.must have been hard to carry a body out of the trail. i hope his loved ones he left behind recover from the loss.i hope he is doing laps in heavens sheer slopes.

so sad to hear. something like this affects us all as i'm sure many of you have had friends/family checking in to see if you're ok.
condolences out to the friends and family of the fallen rider.
godspeed.
We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

Tragic, and most likely, more random that what the non riding public may perceive it as. Condolences to those that were near to him. RIP. We just never know, enjoy each second as best you can.
WTF, Over?
Really, really sad to hear that news. Condolences to the riders family and friends.
This is really sad. My condolences to the family and the fallen rider's friends. May you find strength, support and comfort for the time to come.

Thanks to everyone for thinking of our friend who passed. He was a very experienced and passionate rider and he will be missed by those who loved him.
I don't intend any disrespect , but-please don't speculate too much on what he did and didn't do, or what his companion did or didn't do. Also, if you run into trouble, don't hesitate to call search and rescue. And keep a space blanket on you. Life is precious. Enjoy yourselves, take care of each other, and be safe.Thank you.
I am sorry to hear of the loss of your friend and condolences to all who knew him.
Please let me demonstrate the ride around; really it's no trouble.
Heading out for a ride. Packing my emergency kit with me just because.
Condolences to his friends and family.
