Couple tricky bits where it's best to get off the bike, but otherwise ok.
Mid-ride swims...
How long do you think it would take one way?

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

In trying to escape the Okanagan valley heat yesterday I ended up at the Cliff lake (not sure of its name) at Big White. It wasn't even cold :|
I went fairly direct to it but have an idea for a ride from Gem lake following the ridge and dropping into the cliff lake.
Frog pond/mudhole at the bottom of Lower Griffin. A great spot to clean off your bike and drivetrain too among the skunk cabbages and harvest frog legs for an after-ride bbq.
My best one from last year was Prentice Lake in Lone Valley. There are pics around somewhere.

Do us all a favor and stay out of that lake. It is the water resevoir for the entire mountain, and poaching it is highly illegal. About 15 years ago the lake water tested positive for TB and it was a huge fucking pain. Back in 2006 or so when it wasn't such a ghost town in the summer they had a full fence around it and a security gaurd.
Thanks!
Also, to contribute, nothing beats hitting up Wayside Park after a Top of the World/RDS descent!

Thanks for letting me know. Not a sign in sight that I saw which said anything to suggest I was poaching, it was illegal, or for that matter it was a water reservoir.
Someone might want to look into that lack of signage as I was chatting with a year round resident that said she swam there.

No problem! I agree; that is very odd of the lack of signage as they were quite militant with the whole thing after that incident.
The only thing I can think of, is if they have moved the pumping infrastructure to service the newish proposed reservior at the base of the Powder Chair, though at the last Snow Pines strata meeting I went to (2011 I believe) that had not yet been completed.
It is also possible that the mountain has recieved a more advanced filtration system.
this one at the end of frisby ridge was pretty awesome….
