Actually, any rider who's paying attention knows that riding a trail while wet isn't cool. If you go pretty much ANYWHERE, the locals will tell you to stay off their trails when it's wet - especially in the US, where they have to fight all sorts of legal battles just to be allowed to have trails they can ride on in the first place.
Any rider who cares will assume it's not a good idea to ride a trail when it's wet. If they learn from some reliable sources that certain trails are built to be ridden when wet, then go for it. Just so happens we have a few trails that have been built to take it.
See the difference? Your way assumes the trail can be ridden any time, unless you hear otherwise or maybe just do the ride and destroy the trail. My way respects the possiblility that riding while wet could destroy the trail, because I wait for the facts before I jump on the trail.
