I love Squamish and the municipalities forward thinking. I would hate to live there however and see my seclusion slowly diminish.

That's just to keep other riders preoccupied with those trails :)

try living here for 6 months and then see if you agree with that statement.

this project had nothing to do with the DOS's forward thinking but rather a developer who has a vested intrest in seeing Squamish grow. (solterra has 3 or 4 very large parcells of prime land to develope here in Squamish and this project fits (the climbing/mtb center) right into the type of residential buyers they would be marketing these projects to)

if the DOS was forward thinking this town could rock. it is suceeding inspite of the dead wood at city hall.

100%

the MTB scene thrives there because of the hard work of guys like mettlehead, the rest of sorca, mof, etc, inspite of the DOS.

Enough with the politics. Yes I live here, and it can be frustrating at times. However I am in my 6th year and this town has changed my life for the positive.

When I moved here I had big ideas of what Squamish was going to do for me. Since then I have changed my view and advise the others to save themselves the time and look at if from a better perspective.

Ask not what Squamish can do for you, but what you can do for Squamish.

Yes it is a weird town, and can be quite insular, but things get better every year, and those that struggle with local politics?

Get involved or STFU. Haha. If you have legit concerns get in touch w Susan Chappelle. She actually tries and works very hard for this town.
