Stand on your bike. That's about it.

Old surfers trick from the 70's. Saw a couple of idjit 'Mercans do it all the way down Lonsdale a few years ago.

Man, that is the first trick I ever pulled off. Get some speed, get on up. Try and work it so there is some grass nearby towards the end of the ride.

That looks hard, I dont get why they built up a Nomad for freeriding, doesn't look very good and not very practical.

its really not that hard, just scary

I used to do it with both feet around the seat tube, one on the top tube and one on the seat stays, but i've heard its easier to do it standing on the bars cause you can steer with your foot.

first thing, lower you seat.

1. get the bike up to speed, a slight downhill slope helps, (really slight)
2. Move one foot up on to the Top tube, (this will be the foot to go on the bars)
3. move the other foot up to the seat,
4. stand on it
5. put your lead foot on the bars, (bmx bars are easier, cause you won't hit the gears etc)
6. put you weight onto the foot on the seat, (this is the hardest part)
7. now let go with one hand, then shift your hips over the foot on the seat,
8. stand up and balance your weight over both feet.
9. you're surfing.

I've seen guys do this for a while, and even whip the bike back and forth like a skateboard, steering with the front foot. it looks cool.

I'm not sure how to get get off.

I'm sure 90% of people don't consider the Nomad a freeride bike. It's not very beefy looking and it has air shawnks. How can it be tough enough to withstand the rigors of the north shore?……..no, really! I think it would be a swell bike for shore trails but for big jumps and big drops and that sort of thing, it doesn't deliver cause it's not meant for it.

It's such an old school BMX move, and it's not even hard… In my 05 411VM bmx vid, chad degroot bar rides his bike…. Super sick thing to stand on those grips like that :S
