28, started riding 4 years ago, 1 year ago for the DH/FR stuff.

Nice - a picture of one of the later Commodore PETs. I bought the 3rd 8K Pet to hit vancouver. (Remember Conti Electronics?) It had the chicklet keyboard. I was only a couple times limited by memory on that. It had a whopping 8192 bytes of ram + 32K ROM.

Ah hell, that's because we've been here since it started!! I remember "the net" being old-school BBS's and use groups, then a great technological advance(?) called "America Online" (AKA the world's longest living computer virus) made the net accessible to everyone that could afford $19.95 a month, and the $300+ long distance phone bills to connect to a server that actually connected, etc.

I don't think the internet as everyone knows it today actually came into play until around 1998 or so, and even then, it was nothing like it is now.

The youngins don't realize how good they've actually had it the last 10 years…….

In the case of a system like that one, somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 to 8 Megahertz, and less than 64KB of volatile RAM. Gigawatts wouldn't be relevant to a system like that, as that is a power output and not a processor speed. In reference to power needed, less than 100W to power that bad boy…..

In terms of clock speed, I think it was only 1mhz. (remember the "turbo" button on old IBM PC for a scintillating 4.7mhz?) Max ram was 32K for that model, with some at 16K.

And storage - either a cassette tape, or in later years an external dual 5.25 floppy. I bought one of those and paid about 1800.00 for a whopping total of 340K of storage between the two disks.
