See, I crash on average once every two monthes (which i thought was about right for preservation of life to not trying hard enough), I dont race or do jumps/stunts so it is purly shreading and not getting it right. But my mate was horrified with how much i crash and I was wondering how often everyone else eats dirt?
How often do you crash?
This is an interesting topic. We all cloak ourselves in armour to hopefully take the sting out of a wipeout but how often does it come into play?
I would say that I take a good tumble every 20th ride. I imagine it would be more if I pushed the envlelope a little harder but I usually try and stay close to my comfort level while still doing enough to progress my skills.
I take a good crash at least once every other ride. That doesn't include "falling off my bike" kind of stuff where I still have some contact with the bike like dropping a tire off a skinny and ending in a tagled mess.
Eric
I "fall off my bike" at least once a ride… No real crashes though.
does jumping off your bike when riding a skinny, and then having the bike land on your kiddny count as a crash.
i never used to crash at all, but now it's about every 2 weeks.
I think I do "impromptu armour testing" every couple rides. I like to know my armour is still in good shape.
hol-ee shit but that's a big hole
Yeah i was meaning crash as in you then are more nervous for a run or two and you feel it the next morning kind of way. Not the slipping off a skinny, slipping out on rocky loose climb
I tend to crash multiple times every ride. Depends on how much i want to pin'r

1/25 rides
by posting here that i crash on the rare occasion every month or two, im sure to jinx my self.
Every 3 or 4 rides I end up on the ground counting my appendages. Just had a pretty nice bail last weekend where I nearly ripped my thumb off. Was looking like I might need surgery to reattach some ligaments, but it actually seems to be healing on its own. :woot: :woot:
I learned the hard way to towel off my bike before the dog. I'd rather have a slightly oily dog than a hairy bike.
i'm crashing hard way less than i used to, which is nice, the constant pain was getting a bit tiresome. figuring how to leap off the bike, rather than go over with it, has helped a lot. i have been told however that if you're not crashing you're not trying hard enough. i usually have a medium sized bail about every 5th ride. considering that my shoulder and broken finger are pretty much back to normal, i'm probably due for a big one.
Jeez…..I just bit it while working on my bike!
stupid bike stand tripped me and gave me a shinner…..time to armour up.

I tripped over my own feet walking to the fridge for a beer last night.
You can all go to hell. I'll be joining you shortly and I'm bringing beer and cheetos.
As I sit here waiting for an elbow fracture to heal. My crashes are very inconsistent. Often, none for a few months, then several during one ride.
