Im looking for any info folks might have on riding in and around Hood River, Ore. Must-hit trails, climbing routes, places to stay etc. Thanks in advance!
Hood River
Ride Post Canyon. You can't go wrong with the trails there. Take a look at the recently held enduro course. It covers a lot of the good trails.

Post Canyon is going to be the easy place to hit. Dirt Surfer should be rallied once or twice.
Post Canyon, Surveyors Ridge and a little out of the way Sandy Ridge.
Double Mountain for beers after. Post Canyon is pretty fun. Definitely like the riding at Sandy Ridge better though Hood River is a sweet town!
still think Pfreim is the better beer/food over double mountain.

Try Syncline on the Washington side as well,lots of exposed views. Watch out for poison ivy on both sides.
Sandy ridge is good times. If you are going that far I recommend you get Oakridge into the mix.
Avoid the Makenzie river trail at all costs. Voted best mtb trail in America, more like most overrated.

|Sandy ridge is fun for a couple laps .. easy climb …. Paved version of Mt Highway up fromme . Closed to cars !
Syncline is very nice pedal , pack a lunch no pads needed very Okanagan type terrain .
Dog river as a shuttle is a bunch of fun !
Surveyors ridge is a nice ride as well
if you go late enough in the season and the snow has melted … you can drop in at Timberline Lodge on Mt Hood and ride to basically the valley floor on some cool trails and xc ski area
Jump over to BlackRock for a day too…

Weird, we thought the complete opposite. Sandy ridge was fun and super well developed but a lot of the jumps we poorly spaced bike park-esque tables. On the other hand post canyon was amazing, super long, flowy, well built/good sight lines.

^^ All of this. Oakridge and the Alpine trail are worth the stop. Mackenzie River Trail was mediocre at best. Had some cool views of some pools in amongst the lava rocks, but the riding was uninspiring and monotonous.

hmm, the only jumps we hit were in the very last section, on your right as you pedal up. Sessioned them for ages, thought they were incredibly fun. I think it was called something squirrel or TNT. cant rememebr though

Mackenzie was so weak. The lava flow stuff was OK mostly flat and endless. Would like to try the Bunchgrass trail from Waldo lake to Oakridge. 40km
