The current home insurance company I'm with, only insurance each bike to $1000. What home insurance companies have the best policy/coverage on bikes? My insurance is due next month, so looking for more coverage because $1000 isn't much!
Thanks

They have $1000 coverage, but you then have to pay a deductible that's typically around $500, leaving you with a net of $500. Lame.
I recently called up TD and bought content insurance through them. Their basic coverage is $1500 per bike. They were also $430 for a year, whereas my previous insurance company wanted $740.
Funny, literally last week I had to redo my house insurance and did a search here. Theres a thread in off topic about it, most people recommending TD (monnex meloche).
They were literally half the price I was paying through intact (got discounted rate thanks to professional association memberships) and I got $6000 per bike, only had $2000 with intact.
So, I'm happy at this point. Hopefully I don't have to use it, but I've heard that as far as insurance companies go (they all suck really) they are pretty good to deal with.
Another vote here for TD/monnex. They always seem to have the best coverage for fancy toys.

Did you have to pay extra for the $6000 coverage?
No, mine was included in basic house insurance.

You got $6k of bike coverage included in your basic house insurance??
BCAA is $2k per bike and you can add $3k for another $75ish a year.
TD still looks like the way to go, but another option at least.
I’m lucky a our home owners policy has no limit for bikes. But we have what they refer to as a high value home policy. The house wasn’t that way when bought it, but it is now. We went through Westland Insurance Group.

Yup, that’s their deal. Since I’ve had their coverage the cost has increased every year however, by about 75% over what I first paid. Part of that is also due to switching my coverage to include business use to cover equipment for my business though. It’s still the best deal around though for bike coverage with not needing to add a separate rider for them.
Yes, it was covered under base with TD Meloche.
The only thing I don't know is whether or not it was related to my professional organization membership deal or not.
Thanks.
I'll check out TD/Meloche, are they based out of any TD bank?
I did it all by phone - it was dead simple.

Same. Got the quote online and then called the number. Rep went through it all and was super easy to deal with.
Thanks
