Was there less shuttling yesterday?

With increasingly more frequent fuel rationing, electricity outages and blocked highways expected, will shuttling be less popular, and will more riders choose to ride to their rides?

Or an even crazier idea - will the need to ride to your ride diminish the popularity of Minions?

I haven't had the need to go an fill up with gas yet. I have heard from others, that the 30L max per fill-up is based on the honor system? They are expecting people to willingly stop at 30L? I presumed the pumps would be set to a 30L max per transaction (just as they are currently set to cut off when a chosen $ amount is reached). Based on the hysteria surrounding toilet paper and food we have seen in the recent past, Im not sure how the government thinks people will 'do the right thing' and stop their fill up when they reach 30L? Anyone who has filled up care to weigh in on what they observed?

In Squamish at the Petrocan you have to pay inside first. And you pay for 30 litres of whatever grade you chose.

Its a pretty easy decision for me to not go riding over the next couple of weeks, reduce my driving, save gas for non recreational driving.  Do my part for the province and the impacted zones. Small ask IMO.  Anyways each to their own.  I might try and squeeze in a couple of long rides, sans car, from my house to Seymour or Fromme. Usually only do those in spring and summer though. Works out to a 40 km round trip.

I don't really get the 30L per day.  Can't someone just go to multiple gas stations?

Its actually 30L per transaction. You could theoretically fill up as many times as you want. I think the idea is to get people to try and think about the greater good, but that seems to rarely work out these days.

SAR are asking people take it easy in the mountains right now whilst they're busy moving people out of the flood zones, could be a good week to drop back to low impact riding or walking.

The idea is to encourage people to drive less and save the gas supply for essential travel. But that does not appear to be occurring.

However, in the future, will increasing rationing (with enforcement) make people change their recreation-based driving.

LOL - people seriously doing Jerry-Cans?  Didn't we learn anything from the toilet paper nonsense at the start of pandemic?

Honor System, that's really worked well for us for the last 18months.

Some gas stations here in WVan are dry. None left.

I assumed that the pump would stop at 30l and filled up by accident. 😬

Also don’t make too many assumptions about the jerry can people - I was quite close to needing one for one of my cars and my folks still need to refill their generator, they’ll need a can for that.  Both perfectly legit reasons IMO.

Rode to work today, walked 20,000 steps on Sunday.   Side benefit, not feeling so fat anymore.

Just like it worked for Skytrain all those years.
