Fromme ride or walk?

In other news: I rode up today and passed a whole bunch of people pushing up. They said hi. It was nice.

Coming down, some guys got out of my way, even complemented my riding.

Seems like a nice world…

you didn't make them aware of the rules regarding pushing, and advise them that they could be admonished on nsmb.com bulletin boards?

Lets share a cookie and wear out some drivetrains in the name of our health.

Sounds good. I'll need to buy a chain first…

I much prefer pushing thand grinding up in granny gear. but the push has to be harder than the fromme road. way to slow to hike that, ride to warden, hike warden then continue on up.

if your into hiking its faster to go up st Georges trail, eagle, woodlot hike-a-bikes for the win

Somebody posted in another thread that they are going to start lift accessed riding at Horseshoe Valley in Ontario. I can't wait, then all the heat will be off me for pushing up Fromme since that hill is about the same as the hill from Olympic station the the start of Schleyer/Crank It Up

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

I rode up Fromme for the first time today all the way to Seventh Secret. I have a fairly heavy Devinci Frantik bike and i found the ride actualy fairly easy. I'm also rather out of shape, but managed to go in 2nd gear most of the way without stopping. I don't see why you would push your bike up the road.. it is a fairly easy grade. Much easier than Old Buck on Seymour or the Woodlot.

I guess people park at other spots and push up some of the trails though?

Maybe people should post what gearing their bike has when climbing Fromme. No doubt what might be easy on one bike might not be on another.

I maintain that it's not a matter of capacity, it's about preference, but I have to step in:
It's always the 200lb "fat-asses" who do the best at pedalling. They put out the most wattage and they do well on tracks like Canberra. It would make more sense for people to start bragging about climbing Fromme 17 times looking like Josh Bryceland.
That said, yesterday I opted to skip the 5k bus ride home and go for a walk. Some people just prefer walking.
