Fromme Lot Regulations

I rode Fromme for the first time in a few months and was bummed to find out that there are now time limit regulations (3hr limit) at the Fromme lot. I don't know about you guys, but I usually ride (or generally on the mountain) for more than 3 hours.

If they are going to be enforcing this, I won't be parking in the lot anymore. I'll be parking down in the neighbourhoods. It's my understanding that they built this lot to keep people from parking on the residential streets below. So what's the point of enforcing parking time limits?

If you agree, send your thoughts to District of North Vancouver City Council:

that lot is already over capacity at many times. i imagine motivating some people to park lower is the intention. i'm ok with this.

I noticed that too.
If you are going for a day hike make sure you make it only three hours.

It's a good thing. Will probably affect hikers more than (most) bikers.

Just an FYI

There are "2hr Max" parking signs on Coleman - so check the neighborhoods before leaving a car for longer.

If I'm out for a 3+ hour ride, I don't see an issue with riding an extra 10 minutes for unlimited parking.

For sure. How do you get a 3+ hour ride on Fromme? Obviously its not that hard to do but would involve lap after lap after lap, etc. The 2 hour limit down on Coleman I thought was stingy but 3 hours for the new lot sounds quite reasonable to me.

For me it would be up No Quarter then up to Seventh down to wherever then back up to Executioner [HTML_REMOVED] Dreamweaver.

Well you wouldn't have to use the lot then! Parking at Dempsey/Braemar is unlimited, right?

Yeah. Otherwise, as you say, you be lapping and doubling up. When I use the lot it's primarily for straight up/straight down missions. Usually [HTML_REMOVED]2 hours.

There is no parking at Dempsey/Braemar….those aren't the spots/droids you are looking for.

Yeah way too much gang violence, cougar attacks, tsunamis etc in that area. Park somewhere else.

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

FYI, just over the Pipeline bridge in the LSCR there's 2 new parking lots going in and a large non-outhouse bathroom that just got built.

Just sayin'.
