Drinking creek water

Up until 2007 or so, North Van didnt have a water filtration plant and drank from Seymour and Capilano lakes.  Which came from the creeks.

It was chlorinated though.  Now, it is also filtered.  Creeks are neither.  That said I have occasionally had a gulp of creek water over the years.  Generally not worth the risk unless in a true survival situation.

Switch, the ski hill has primary and secondary sewage treatment. They also have UV with chlorine back up water treatment and monitor the quality daily with weekly samples going for lab testing.

If youre on a bike....you're miles from the outflow.

The output of the effluent is into Francis Creek, and there has been allegations of untreated or improperly treated sewage entering the creek.

alternatively you could also click on the down arrow next to your name in the log in box in the top corner. when you do that it brings up a dialogue box where you can click on messages and go to your pm box. you've spent too much time up narth and it's frozen yer brain cells.

the shitty thing though is if you do it this way you have to make sure you get the user name correct, there is no drop down list generator like there is in vbulletin.

A couple of forums I belong to call it "(start a ) conversation". Which doesn't sound very private. Being old is harder than it looks....
