Does anyone carry bear spray?

Wow, you north New Zanadians have some different things to think about riding solo than us down south.

I've been hearing the kiwoose shrieking on my night rides recently, but there's no need to spray it.

I mostly ignore black bears when I come across them, 

lol.... supa' chill!

I carry it, but I'm a packhorse and also ride with first aid.  A friend of a friend in Fernie this summer had to multi deploy on a bear that charged them a few times on the way off the trail.  Seems like it worked for him.

Any updates on the Seymour bear? Haven't heard anything from NSMBA and land managers seem frustratingly silent? Would be good to know if any recent sightings.

Spoke with someone a couple weekends ago that it chased for awhile. He ended up hiding behind a big cedar trying to keep the tree between him and the bear. Seemed like it was mostly playing because Im sure it would have caught him if it wanted - and playing circle games around a big tree with a giant black bear? Something is weird with this bear - I hope he makes it into hibernation before things go downhill.

Definitely hoping the bear finds somewhere cozy and less hectic than the top of the BP to hang out for the winter. Also definitely looking forward to getting proper Seymour laps back into my life. :)
