DNV Surveyor On Natural High

I noticed a DNV survey truck at the top of Natural High today. As I rode by the top of the trail I looked down to see someone using a surveyor about 30 meters in. He was surveying to the south east pointing directly towards Mountain View Park. It makes me nervous seeing this. Perhaps I'm being paranoid but I'm really hoping this is not a bad sign. I prefer trees to subdivisions. Any thoughts on what this could be about? Thanks.

I'm no expert but isn't that parks land? Meaning no development without some serious red tape navigation?

Monica is finally getting her wish. No mountain bikers in Mountain View Park, it's going to get houses instead of the evil stunt bikers and their trails.

Maybe surveying options for the proposed parking lot?

Sustainable will be around forever.

I talked with a DNV survey crew about a month back when they were up at the drop off (right after the NSMBA council chat) and he confirmed then that they were doing their thing for potential parking plans.

should put parking right at that first wooden stunt on Natural High. It's always made me skittish and perhaps a good asphalt trail down instead of this crazy wooden stunt would be preferable?

Why don't they just pave over all of Fromme so there will be ample parking parking everywhere on the mountain? Or pave the road and build a parking lot above the 7th switchback for car shuttling? (ESARC)

Are these the same guys who design these bikes paths?

Who thinks a lot there is a good idea?

I truly hope that they will not be clear cutting trees for a parking lot. Natural high; The trail itself is less of a conern to me than the concept of a parking lot being in its place. We need to take a serious look at the way we are accessing the mountain if the only option is to clear cut a section of forest for a parking lot.

How many spaces do they plan? Could the existing road not be widened to allow street parking after the first gate.

Well, if the NIMBYs would allow street parking further up the mountain and spread around more, it wouldn't be an issue. But instead they'd rather see a whole load of forest chopped down rather than have someone parked on their (really wide….) street. Go figure…..

If mountain bikers would have been polite visitors the parking ban wouldn't have been implemented. We were our own worst enemies in that situation.
