You're right, it does sound like the words of a victim served frivolous papers from a lawyer.
I know, and like, Lee but he's not a "victim" nor do I think he's claiming to be one. Maybe Sharon is/was a "victim" but this conflict, whether it is one of Lee vs. Mark, Lee vs. Mark [HTML_REMOVED] NSMBA, Lee [HTML_REMOVED] Others vs. Mark [HTML_REMOVED] NSMBA (truth told, I'm not 100% clear) is just a personal war now.
And choosing sides in this war is like choosing sides in a war of attrition. The REAL losers, in my opinion, are trail users in general and all the people who invested themselves in creating the great reputation that the NSMBA has specifically.
I understand the metrics that Lee is using to measure win/loss -- I don't know what Mark is playing for -- and anyone commenting re. loss to his personal reputation as measured by people in general is wasting text.
Hi there,
While Mark is within his rights to have sought legal council and that the NSMBA supports our employee during this difficult time, no costs related to this matter have been covered by the NSMBA.
To be clear, the NSMBA has not incurred any expense related to any matter relating to the aforementioned letter or the exchange between Mr. Mark Wood and Mr. Lee Lau.
regards,
Rachid
NSMBA Treasurer
Sorry Rachid, but the real costs of this shit show are significantly higher than paying a lawyer 1k to send a letter.
I hate being pessimistic, but I feel like there will be a loss in memberships, volunteer labour, donations, and sponsors into the future that will be directly and indirectly attributable to a failure, on many peoples' parts - mine included, to resolve this conflict.
Sorry,
Drew
