The NSMBA common sense, careful and non-social media motivated approach bears better hope of resolving anything than posting one-sided accusations in this forum.
It is exactly their way of responding that will attract people to get involved with the NSMBA because they adopt the approach of a good organization.
And I'm a little disappointed with Lee actually. He has brought a scathing online assault against Mark and been found to be embellishing his beef.
Looks like the NSMBA is on the correct footing. I appreciate their efforts. They have my full support. Kudos.
Well said.
Firmly in the peanut gallery over here but I've read the whole thread, and it's disappointing in several ways.
Maybe the NSMBA do employ a guy who acts like a dick, but there are a lot of dicks out there so the law of averages says most organizations are going to have trouble completely avoiding them. Despite this, they're doing amazing work all over the shore and 99% of the stuff they're doing is absolutely positive in my book. The Trailforks stuff was childish but I have a hard time seeing how it's such a big deal. From reading this thread it does look like Mark gets a lot of credit for a huge amount of trailbuilding and advocacy work. So most of us have something to thank him for.
On the other hand, Lee seems to be following a pattern of, embellish, get called out, apologize, continue to embellish, rinse repeat. If it's actually true that he's using sock puppets in this thread then that's inexcusable. Honestly I don't see why this needed to be public at all. Lots of us have personality conflicts with people we think are douches. We somehow manage to either deal with the conflict or successfully avoid the person without starting multiple page threads on the internet. Lee, get over it and move on. You clearly don't 'just want to be left alone'. You want to stir shit up and win a battle. But nobody else really cares and the people who did initially care are probably burnt out on it at this point.
I like Asian Adonis, it's a fun trail. I also like all the other new trailwork being done. I don't care who did the actual work and I certainly don't care about weird internet beefs. Let it die.
