Is this for real? What are the chances of meeting one doing laps on Fromme?

Do they hang out around the 7th Secret entrance?

Assuming you're not a weight weenie, bring some Whiskas Temptatios with you and give the bag a shake before dropping in on 7th. Prepare for hilarity?

I know the school has been warning us about spottings at Kilmer Park for a month or so.

They have always been there and always will, thankful that mostly they just watch out of curiosity and not hunger.

The thought of cougars always enters my mind when I'm night riding by myself in the middle of winter when these big cats are hungry due to lack of food (snow season). I convince myself that my blinding lights are all the defense I need.

If your worried, some forestry workers paint or sticker eyes to the back of their helmets , the eye's may confuse the Cougar and deter it from jumping you from behind.

Its spooky and cool at the same time that as city folk, we still have the animal instincts to sense when we are being watched. Listen to your gut …..and don't let the cougar have a taste.

There have been a lot of cougar sightings in the past week around Bert Flinn, Buntzen, Eagle. Mother and young adult cub. Also at a couple schools in the area. These ones aren't wearing lulu lemon either. I don't recall a year with so many sightings. It is unnerving I must say.

Wrong. Always.

We came across a big black bear last Tuesday while climbing up Baden between Boogieman and the old way into severed down Baden Powell, took a few minutes of making noise to get him off the trail. This was the first time i have seen a bear while riding on seymour in 14 years

Years ago there used to be a bear that hung out on the Seymour ski hill road, eating the planted grass on the slope beside the road. It wasn't interested in cyclist at all.

Also years ago saw a big bear at the top of Executioner, they are out there.
