When I came across the NSMB memorial this morning, it left a bit of an empty pit in my stomach. I didn't know Chris Turner well, at all, but I grew up playing soccer and going to school with his older brother John. I haven't spoken to John since graduating.

John: my sincerest condolences to you and your family for your loss. 28 is just way too young, but knowing your family's love for the outdoors, Chris surely lived every day.

Mike Meade.

that article nearly brought a tear to my eye. I didn't know the guy, but from the sounds of it he was both a great guy and a great influence over many people.

Although I never knew who he was, I believe the mountain bike community has lost one of the greatest. My condolences.

No way it would be drugs. Not with this gentleman.

These things happen. I don't think details are really required.

Yep it's hardly appropiate to discuss that.
It's sad news and thoughts have to go out to his family and friends.

Cheese…once again, low class on your part. Think about it: time and a place.

Always sad to lose a fellow rider, and at such a young age. RIP

Im sorry, but i dont think that danny had any intention of being rude. When i read it i wondered the same thing, and it really bothers me - how did he just pass away.. there has to be a reason, its scary because it could happen to any one of us at any time (or anyone in the world) So i think knowing brings a sence of closure, and understanding to some.

that is really sad. I live in port moody and when i heard about the trail from coquitlam to portmoody i thought may be a more difficult trail should be built there in his memory. and where is it anyway?

any trail in memory of a fallen rider is good. Or re-name his favorite trail in memory of him
