Does anyone know what's happening or when the estimated opening is?
cambodia update
been officially open for over a week
still closed. original opening got pushed. new entrance line still fenced / being worked on.
From an NSMBA director (me), here is a timeline:
Official industry opening was on May 24th, with SRAM (the lead sponsor) hosting a group ride for about 50 people on the trail.
Official public opening was scheduled for May 25th, if you recall, an article entitled "nsmba-announces-official-opening-of-cambodia-trail-on-mt-seymour" whent live on NSMB.com for about 30 minutes.
On the morning of May 24, Metro Vancouver, the land manager, who worked very cooperatively with the NSMBA and worked with the NSMBA's trail crew to find creative solutions to keep highly challenging features permitted on the trail - reached out and requested that the opening be delayed by a week as severe rain had caused erosion and made the trail conditions less than ideal for intermediate riders to attempt.
The rain has not let up. The opening of the trail keeps being pushed forward due to atmospheric conditions.
Please stay tuned, an article will go live on NSMB.com when the trail officially opens. Also, please refrain from riding the trail as it is being actively worked on and the current wet conditions accelerate soil erosion.
cheers,
Rachid Nayel, [email protected]
Thanks Rachid
Any news on the multi-use/loop/climbing trail that, sorta, uses TNT?

No official word on that one. At least not from me.
The wait will be worth it. Let it dry out please!
looks like a dry spell finally.
Seen quite a few photos / clips on Insta the past few days, did I miss the opening or are people just poaching?
I rode Cabin Fever for the first time on Sunday, and then into Cabin. The entrance to what I believe was Cambodia was fenced off then - so unless it reopened quietly yesterday or today I would presume people are poaching.
Over 250 different people have ridden Cambodia this year, according to the Strava segment leader board (so, in reality, a LOT more than that!)
Just sayin' 🤔
But, yeah, the opening, or otherwise, hasn't really been handled very well and the opaqueness* is frustrating when you're trying to do the right thing.
* It's doubly frustrating as Metro Vancouver are the land managers - an organization which, through its own incompetence and opaqueness, is screwing NS residents for an extra $600 per year property tax for the next 30 years for the sewage plant debacle (so they get zero latitude for incompetence from me)
Edit: no disrespect to Rachid or NSMBA intended but I don't like Metro Vancouver as an organization!

◆◆ Cambodia trail now OPEN:
The NSMBA is proud to announce the official reopening of the newly sanctioned Cambodia trail on Mt. Seymour. This significant milestone is the culmination of the NSMBA's dedicated work to adopt this trail into the network, ensuring the protection and maintenance of this Shore classic for years to come.
With its challenging natural features and unique terrain, Cambodia has long been a favourite of the most accomplished riders on the Shore. The NSMBA, working in close partnership with the land manager, Metro Vancouver (Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve), has played a crucial advocacy role in ensuring the preservation of this trail, which could have been closed and decommissioned entirely.
A huge effort has been made to bring this route up to trail standards and officially sanction this trail into the network. Now officially part of the North Shore trail system, this new trail adoption underscores NSMBA’s commitment to preserving and enhancing North Shore’s trail legacy and is aligned with our vision of Trails for All, Trails Forever.
This achievement is a testament to the vital support from SRAM, a key partner in NSMBA’s Trail Adoption Program. Their contributions have been instrumental in making this project a reality, and we are grateful for their ongoing support. Other project funding was provided through the BC Gaming Grant, Canada Summer Jobs and membership fees.
Awesome! Great to hear, thanks for all the hard work :)
