For all of you that have patiently watched our reels this week and waited to see where all the heavy cedar was headed. This is a small ephemeral water way that only runs for a short period of time each year. This area has definitely seen an increase of users. Thanks to the hard work from Metro Van, @henryofitzgerald @danielshaw17 @megankobitzsch @krapcev @sarahmacleod and the @nsmba. This side of Seymour is also seeing more traffic because of all the improvements made by Metro higher up the mountain over the years. This short boardwalk is just another small improvement to the network as a whole and we are happy to be part of it. Thanks to Joe and Luke from Metro for the continued commitment to improving this amazing set of trails.

I wouldn't call that regenerated, the scar is still there.

Here's a recent ride (July 1, 2024 upload) by of the reroute in question. Did you notice the old line?

0:56 also has a decommissioned fall line water spring old line, barely seen on your left. I tried to walk it last summer, and couldn't without crawling under bushes.

There's the same branch still laying in the foreground. I'm always stoked when no one, including dogs, uses the old line.

Pedalled up to Cambodia via cabin today and noticed a lot of cool looking work being done on that section of cabin between Ned's and Cambodia.

Only potential downside there at least in my mind is it looks like that section will be made downhill only, but I kinda hope not, as then there's really no other way to access that zone without pedalling the road or shuttling. Maybe that's where TNT comes in although it joins a fair ways down Cambodia.

the new work on cabin actually facilitates climbing to cambodia. not sure if intentional, and definitely a grunt, but doable if you're motivated.

Nice, what I saw looked like berms and a gap jump with a ride around option, so looked like it was the beginnings of a high speed down track, but if they layout ends up facilitating two way traffic as well, all the better.

I guess what I'm saying is, I can imagine that the work may make it easier, but empress bypass is easier to climb now too since it was redone, but it's actually less viable now. :-p

Actual Cambodia update - if you find yourself (or a partner) in trouble on Cambodia, the very strange super wide new woodwork situated riders left above the waterfalls leads to a very nice downhill blue flow trail that takes you to bottom of Neds towards Hyannis.  It is much shorter than trying to get an injury down the waterfalls.  No longer any indications of trail closure.

I finally realize the importance of this new(ish) line - it is a bail out, an emergency exit, also a easy up for S&R and their stretcher.

I couldn't resist, went and checked it out this afternoon.

Featureless blue flow, but well built featureless blue flow. Similar to Ned's but smoother and the turns do link together nicely. A nice place to practice cornering, looking further down the trail, and pumping, as it's a fairly long descent so gives you a decent amount of time to get in the groove. Definitely will be helpful for emergency access as well. Also - there are maybe a couple steepish switchbacks, but it'd make a pretty great climber as well, better than cabin hehehe

We used it again today for an emergency out with a heavily bruised arm and rib from upper Cambodia. Hell of a long walk to Hyannis, you can also access it from higher up crossing Cambo via TNT, but it's a shitty ride down to the blue flow. It'll definitely be a great short lap climber option.

(Yes, you likely rode past us Kenny, she was walking, I cautioned you. Advil and wine is now taking the edge off)

Sorry to hear it was needed in such a capacity but glad to hear it's within the scope of advil and wine. However, I did not see a soul, would have been rolling down about 3:30? Must have just missed you.

I hope the new blue flow bail out remains a sanctioned climber. I was told last winter by a "Wizard" that they were not building a climber.

Its not climber specific tight switchbacks, but more straight line berms that could be pedalled up
