In case any of you didn't catch this on pinkbike the other week, this is the best explanation of ideal riding body position I have ever watched. He explains how it works and gives cues for what strength and flexibility you need to pull it off.
I have to say, it is the first video that has really improved my performance. I even use the same position climbing and find I get more power as it helps include my back, gluts and hamstrings more in my pedal stroke. I did find I had to lower my saddle slightly to accommodate the dropped heals pedaling. Interestingly, my mtb saddle height had migrated upwards and now my lower height is actually in line with my road bike.
