I'm looking to get a hitch installed on my vehicle.

Anyone have a recommendation for good and cheap supplier/installers around Van/North Van?

Uhaul did mine. They're the cheapest on the shore. I also got a discount for booking and paying for it online.

I had mine installed at Rack Attack in Vancouver and they did a good job. I've also heard Burnaby Hitch does good work.

I've had 3 cars done at Mobile Hitch. The guy (Shayne) is fantastic.

He used to be at the north end of Commercial, he's in Coquitlam now: http://www.mobilehitch.ca/

Agree.

Plus…won't he come to you, being mobile and all?

Also, depending on vehicle, they are not hard to install. Can be ordered online and bolted up in the driveway. But some need drilling and such, check that first if you're not into that.

Do it yourself, usually only 3 or 4 bolts. No point spending another $100 for some mug at a shop to do it

Another vote for DIY. It's not like your building the space shuttle.

order from hitchweb.ca and install yourself. I can barely change a tube on my bike and did it, and saved a couple hundred bucks

I also went the DIY route. If your vehicle frame already has mounting holes, it's super easy. One person to help lift and hold the hitch while the other bolts it in place. The hardest part is cleaning out the threads in the holes so the bolts go in easily. I borrowed an appropriate tap from the shop at work to do it, but if there is a lot of rust, or you're not mechanically inclined, it may be worth paying someone else to deal with it.

If you want to pay someone to tighten a few bolts, Burnaby Hitch is a good outfit.

yeah not always easy, my van had tons of undercoating inside the threads and wasn't able to scrape it out in the driveway due to the location of it. hung my head low and paid a shop to clean them out while it was in for other service

but yeah usually pretty simple

You fail.
Turn your man card in at the front desk.
