3rd Annual Belly Big Air, Bellingham, Washington
mountain bike jump contest

WHERE:
Lake Padden Park, Bellingham, Washington

WHEN:
June 1st, 2:00 pm (all entrants must be registered before 2:00pm)

COST:
$15 USD per competitor (for both Pro and Am classes)

THE COMP:

Pro class:

-1 big dirt double + 1 big Kona ramp to dirt landing!
-20+ minute crowd warming practice session!
-4 show-off runs!
-4 final competition runs!
-panel judged!
-cash prizes for top 3!

Amateur class:

-1 big Kona ramp to dirt landing!
-20+ minute crowd warming practice session!
-4 show-off runs!
-4 final competition runs!
-crowd judged!
-wicked prizes for top 3!

DIRECTIONS:

From south of Bellingham:

I-5 north to Samish Way/Western Washington University exit. Turn right at exit ramp onto Samish Way. Drive 2.4 miles and turn right into Lake Padden Park EAST entrance. Bear right at entrance, follow signs to picnic area. Belly Big Air in parking lot at end of the road!

From north of Bellingham:

I-5 south to Samish Way/Western Washington University exit. Turn left at light at exit ramp onto Samish Way. Cross over I-5 and turn right at light. Drive 2.4 miles and turn right into Lake Padden Park EAST entrance. Bear right at entrance, follow signs to picnic area. Belly Big Air in parking lot at end of the road!

I can't give specifics at this point, but prizes will consist of goodies put forth by Kona, Clark's Cycles, Rudy Project, etc.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention… in addition to the jumps, there will be an optional 4' wood quarterpipe with subbox/subrail at the end of the run for you ramp rippers out there… :coo:

is pro really PRO or is it just like young rippers that are above amateur??? or are there actual pros gonna be there. i might go down i just wanna know what the turnout is usually like. its quite a trip especially with the border nowadays and seeing i wasn't born in canada i get hassled somtimes

pro means PRO.

No, pro means anyone who's good and can throw down big, famous or not.

Gareth, Nigel, Donahue, and a bunch of the Canadian groms might consider coming down, if that helps you make a decision. Jake Denhart and Chris Aho from Seattle are coming up.

We Bellinghamsters frequently come up to North Van, shouldn't be like a mission to Mars for some of you guys to come down here! ;)

I'm from van and ill be there, since im not ready to jump against nigel, donahue and gareth, I think i'll stick to the amature catagory :) Hopefully I'll do alright.
