I saw a some fire trucks and ambulances at the intersection of Mount Seymour Rd. and BP around 3:45pm. Does anyone knows what happened?
Accident in Seymour?
Seen those too, don't know what happened, gotta think it was a bike accident. There were certainly a lot of emergency services though.
We were riding there today and met the guy. He broke his leg on a jump on Pangor - he was talking and seemed fine, fire rescue was there with him, warned us that he was down so we wouldnt ride into him. Not really sure how to describe where the jump is but you ride a skinny up to it, make a slight left at the top and roll down and off; it's the one to the right where the ride-around line is a quite long downward log bridge. It is just a bit before Pangor rock…

Yah, that's the one where I came off, landed on my head and compressed my L1.

When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called religion.
Sad to hear, hope He recovers fast and wel.

I've heard of a few injuries on that one. Isn't that where Lee blew up his shoulder a few years back?
My friend and I were talking to his friend that saw it happened and he thinks the timbia had a compound fracture. He said he was waiting for about an hour, this was at about 4….
Its the time of year to start packing some dry cloths in a zip lock bag and an emergency blanket.
Is there any follow-up by NSMBA, or trail authority/land manager after an accident on a trail stunt? When I read that a stunt has taken a number of people out, maybe something should be done!?!

I disagree, the trails are there to be ridden at your own risk, it mountain biking not knitting we're doing here and the involves some risk. I haven't ridden that but i'm sure there's plenty harder stuff on the shore than that. The guy was either pushing his limits which there is nothing wrong with or had probably ridden it plenty before and just didn't quite judge something right and got unlucky. Hope he heals quick.

While it is unfortunate that anybody has been hurt on it, I cant imagine it would be any different for any other jump. Unless you are planning on getting rid of it (which is what the land manager would likely suggest), there are not a lot of options aside from a realistic assessment of your riding skills and an intelligent decision from there on whether or not you are capable and in the right mindframe to get er done.

I feel bad for the guy but come on.
If you have a problem with that drop(small, downward slope, nice smooth tranny) then you will have a problem with any drop.
Ride at yer own risk.
