We used to be Dizzy , Now we are Obsessed.

Here is a quick outline on why we are changing the store name , what it means , and what else may change .

Simply, in 2000 after 6 years of Sales Repping for Outdoor Gear Canada I partnered up with my previous employers Paul Sim and Leslie Smith to start up Dizzy Cycles in North Vancouver. Paul and Les were the former owners of the Bike Cellar.

The idea was straight forward; assemble a kick butt team of bike freaks, and offer the best Service in the lower mainland.

The plan was always present to purchase the store from Paul and Les. The purchase took place in May of 2006. Since Paul and Les owned the name Dizzy Cycles as well as another store operating under the that name (started in 2003). The obligation was mine to change the name of the North Vancouver store .

We laboured hard to come up with a name as cool as Dizzy.

The first list of names was over 100 and after rendering this down to 20 a simple truth started to surface: We are Obsessed. We are Obsessed with; the truth, great service, good parts supply, the best staff and all forms of bike. We ourselves are Obsessed with the performance of our bikes and we are bringing this Obsession to the market.

The name change is not going to change how we approach our business, if anything we will be even more focused on our customers and what they need from their bike store. Hey that

Yes and no. It's not James who is currently at OGC (Downing) but he was at OGC about six years ago (Wilson).

bahahaha - i actually like that better too.

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.
