hey Lou! are you guys stocking the turbospoke yet?
We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

Holy shiit! Hi Lou!
Merry Christmas Lou to you and all the elfs at Obsession
The raw, primitive, unrefined trails that see little to no maintenance are the kinds of trails that really build skill. What kind of skills do you learn riding a trail that was made by a machine, groomed to perfection and void of any rocks, roots or other obstacles that could send you careening over the handlebars?
Where are the new 2.6 Maxxis/Schwalbe tyres?
Freedom of contract. We sell them guns that kill them; they sell us drugs that kill us.
the 26" tires will never happen, well maybe not never…
27.5 or 29?

Maxxis Tires, in 27.5 x 2.6 will leave Taiwan Late this February. Should be in Canada early April at the latest.
Schwalbe NobbyNic in PaceStar compound is available now.
TrailStar version should be available mid-February.

Maxxis will be doing this size in Rekon and Forekaster.
Minion DHF 2.5 already exist. skinny 2.5. measuring at 2.45"
The 2.8 Minion DHF measure at 2.65" on 30mm internal rims…
Rekon+ 2.8" measures at 2.68" on 38mm internal rims.

As is RR on their webstore. Either of those in your store?

Hi Lou,
Playing with gear ratios over at Bike Gears Calculator, and it seems if I want to get the same low ratio as my 2x9 speed with 1x11 I would need go with a 28NW up front and something like OneUps 45T extender (for the XT/R).
That would get me down to 0.65 for those hill climbs up Cardiac and Burke.
So the question is do you really need to go with a 28NW/11-45T to get the same bang for pedal on the ups with a 27.5?

Would such a set up result in lots of empty spin, or would a 30NW/11-42T [0.74] or 28NW/11-42T [0.69] or 30NW/11-45T [0.69] give you the same effective pedal-up ability based on other mechanical and weight benefits of the 1x11 systems?

:hurt:
So there's no shame that my 26x42 is too tall? :(

Not a big fan of the PaceStar compound at this time of year, but the vendor has the Nobby Nic 27.5 x 2.6" tires in stock.
Can get them in a day…Not Saturday or Monday…
