I can get the converters from bar clamp to I-Spec, but Shimano does not list the bar clamps as a seperate item…

Let me make a phone call this week…

Lou

Thanks Lou but one of those mountain biker types that hang around here pm'd me and had a set.

The raw, primitive, unrefined trails that see little to no maintenance are the kinds of trails that really build skill. What kind of skills do you learn riding a trail that was made by a machine, groomed to perfection and void of any rocks, roots or other obstacles that could send you careening over the handlebars?

Been a while for me,

Sprained a wrist and got hit by a car over the holidays, and super busy in the shop with this global warming thing…

Any questions out there?
Any answers I need to know?

ouch! is that gorgeous face of yours still ok?

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

Thanks for the what to grease post pedal hound and Lou.

But I am about to press my headset in on my Carbon Operator frame and am wondering if I should use any grease? Aluminum cups and carbon head tube.

The stock cups didn't seem to be greased but that could be factory lack of prep. Thanks!

Can you clarify this question? All Kona carbon Operators have aluminium headset cups/races bonded into the head tube. What are you pressing in?

Ride, don't slide.

Almost all headset cups are aluminum, I cant think of any that arent…

pressing cups into a carbon frame, I would prefer to use green loctite.

638 - Fast Cure
640 - High Temp
648 - High Strength.

638, is the prefer bonding agent, as far as I'm concerned, Fast Cure, medium strength (relative)…

Hey Lou,
Is it still uncomfortable when you and Matt S. lock eyes from across the shop?

Hey Lou,
How the heck do I find out what rotors are compatible with certain brakes? Recommend a good dh brake? Value for the money kinda thing.

Hi Lou,

Playing with gear ratios over at Bike Gears Calculator, and it seems if I want to get the same low ratio as my 2x9 speed with 1x11 I would need go with a 28NW up front and something like OneUps 45T extender (for the XT/R).

That would get me down to 0.65 for those hill climbs up Cardiac and Burke.
So the question is do you really need to go with a 28NW/11-45T to get the same bang for pedal on the ups with a 27.5?

Would such a set up result in lots of empty spin, or would a 30NW/11-42T [0.74] or 28NW/11-42T [0.69] or 30NW/11-45T [0.69] give you the same effective pedal-up ability based on other mechanical and weight benefits of the 1x11 systems?

:hurt:
