I'm new here and would hate to offend my favourite mechanic, but these are the fab rims that Lou built.

that's pretty rad,

if you pair that up with one of those rocky mtn white and red flatline or that RMX with special maple leaf paintings

Hey, I've got a 2008 Specialized Stumpjumper Pro Carbon with the integrated 120mm fork. I'd love some more travel and was looking at putting on a new Fox Talas fork with the 120-150mm travel adjust. Couple of questions…

1. Is it possible to do this? (I know it will void warranty)

2. What do you think about how the performance will be with 150mm of travel?

It's either a new fork, or a new bike… cuz 120mm just isn't cutting it anymore…

Thanks!!

OK….
The bike came with a taper'd steer tube fork (1.5/ 1 1/8"), but a special crown race….

Best option! straight 1 1/8"steer tube on the fork. I have a headset adapter. will need a bearing, no big deal….

as for performance….

WHAT TRAILS ARE YOU RIDING?

To build the Stumpy FSR into an ALL MOUNTAIN (BC) bike, your gonna kill it!

Tell me what you want from the bike- bigger hits, climbing, rippin the downhill, singletrack…

Then I will let you know.

But I'm thinking you need a a different bike….

Basically I'm just looking to get a bit more forgiveness for the steeper sections of trails that I ride. For example, Comfortably Numb at the end would be much more enjoyable with some more travel. I'm not looking to hit jumps or really thrash my bike, just hoping for some more forgiveness from the front end. Even riding out at Burke I often feel like some more travel would be nice to have…

I could get a sweet deal on a tapered 2011 Talas fork from a guy I know, but are you saying it won't fit because of the special crown race on my bike?

I guess I'm just not totally sold on the benefits of buying a new trail bike with 140mm front and back, versus putting a adjustable fork on the current bike.

Thanks:)

A tapered 1 1/8" to 1.5" fork WILL NOT FIT THIS BIKE.

due to the Specialized S-120 fork it came with, and the Total Suspension Integration (STI) package the bike was built around….the only way to get a longer travel fork is to get a straight 1 1/8" steer tube.

So keep looking for a fork….
