Freeride Entertainment's latest and greatest mountain bike film, NWD 8 "Smack Down", will have it's Vancouver screening at the Sonar Night Club this Thursday Oct. 11th. Freeride has spent the last year travelling to such exotic locations as Israel, Argentina, Europe, Utah and of course BC to capture the most progressive and scenic riding in the world. Shot on Super 16mm and High Definition, the film stars British Columbia and Vancouver locals Ben Boyko, Robbie Bourdon, Darren Berrecloth, Wayne Goss, Kurt Sorge, Wade Simmons and Richie Schley. Along with the rest of the world's best racers, freeriders and dirt jumpers, have thrown down their best moves to create New World Disorder 8. "Scenes from Kokanee Crankworx 2007, heli-biking in the Chilcotin Range and ex world champion Fabien Barel shredding the Whistler Mountain Bike Park are a few of the highlights," says Chris Lawrence, Freeride's tour manager. Freeride Entertainment, based out of Nelson BC, has been producing heavy hitting, award winning mountain bike and action sports productions for the last 10 years.

With over 2,000 people in attendance Lawrence and the rest of the crew hosted the world premiere of the film last week in Las Vegas at the annual Interbike bicycle trade show. "The movie this year is mesmerizing, you can't stop watching it. We had people stand at our booth in Vegas for 3 hours." The film will now screen in 70 cities around the world. "Vancouver is one of our biggest premieres because of all the local riders." Most of the above mentioned riders will be in attendance at the Sonar Club screening which will also include the musical talents of the RED BULL Eh! Team DJs from Montreal. Tickets are $15 and are available at Simon's Bike Shop, 608 Robson St., Deep Cove Bike Shop, 1389 Main St. N. Vancouver and On Top Bike Shop, 3051 Lonsdale Ave, N. Vancouver.

doors open at 8 MY ASS we didn't get in until 10. now i remember why i stopped going to clubs…

movie was ok, the screen setup was a little odd since for one of them you had to view it through a dance cage  i found the endless dj's a little boring. fabien's part was KICKASS, my god that guy is fast. need more of him and cedric.

and the music was so damn loud, holy crap. everyone sure cleared out after the movie was done  tons of schwag though.

I'm just happy I was too drunk to figure out how to get INTO the dance cage..

Judy I remember seeing you…..at least two or three of you….

the movie kicked ass, as we knew it would. I think I remember telling Big D that his movie was a "pretty good little film…"

plz for the luv of GOD ..

no more DJ/slopestyle footage…

bring back trail riding…

did anyone else notice the vibe rise and fall as different types of riding was showcased..

p.s. Wade deserved WAYYYYYYY more time in that film.. his riding continues to be the epitome of shore riding and translates wickedly to film..

this is the first NWD film i prolly wont be buying unless it has some killer extras.. cuz the film simply didnt have enuf of the type of riding that made the series so good..

did they really travel all the way to Isreal to jump a camel ? or all the way to Argentina to hit DJ's ???

if so what a waste.. im sure they must have had some better footage then that…

oh yah and the Sonar might be the worst layout for a MTB film premeiere… long thin building with a screen at one end that isnt high enuf…

8-(…

best venue has got to be the commodore or the centennial theatre in NV.. films i saw in those places had fantastic seating and viewing areas.. not to mention tons of space to move about and shmooze the Pro's..

8-)
