I don't have a huge boner for FSR bikes, but I gotta say the Demos are always very quiet at the races.

Check my stuff for sale!

Has anyone reputable and reasonably unbiased reviewed the most recent demo 8? I'm interested to know how they ride. Seeing pictures of Fairclough whipping his makes me want to buy one.

Unreputable and biased as I am I can tell you the new demo is awesome. I had a 2010 demo which used the same static geometry but rides way different. The new one stays higher in its travel and is noticeably lighter in the hands (the weight is lower down and there's less of it). It's also remarkably quiet. With zero sound control work and no chain guide (just a broken bash ring) I could bearly hear anything but the tires - and in half a dozen laps of everything on Seymour I haven't had any hint at all of chain issues. Not one. It also jumps and pumps really well, the suspension loves to be pumped - jump it into a pile of rocks which vaguely points down and you feel the instant acceleration. On the down side, choose hubs carefully as some don't fit without "work" and some people have found they have to remove the deurailler protector to get the smallest cog. Both workable issues though. The biggest problem appears to be getting hold of one! Fin.

Sustainable will be around forever.

Man my '06 Demo looks so tired…. :(

All you need for riding is ignorance and confidence; then success is sure.
