Hey Everyone,

so, some bastard broke into the bike locker in my apartment downtown, and stole all 3 of my bikes. Please keep an eye out.

I don't think the Sub 20 had fenders.

Really sorry, Scott. I hope you find the bastard that stole them.

Ultra lame dude, I will keep an eye for them.

Just curious, what was the construction of the locker? Were they individually locked as well?

the locker has a metal door with only FOB access, and the bikes were individually locked. No sign of forced entry. We did get video of the guys walking in the building and leaving with the SX, but nothing on the aline or sub20. walking through the building, we found a handful of different doors with the locks stuffed with various things.

Perhaps worth checking out. Could be just a coincidence, may be more than that?

Noticed a bum cruising around downtown Maple Ridge on a blue A-Line yesterday. Only difference is it had white 888's.

Hey Everyone,

So, one of the adds posted above was for my Scott Sub20. I emailed the guy, claiming that I lived in Abbotsford, and that I needed higher res pictures of the bike to ensure it was worth a trip to take a look at. The guy sent me a picture from his iPhone and I was able to confirm it was my bike by the aftermarket grips/bar end caps. I handed the dummy email account over to the police, who set up the "sting" for that evening and later called to tell me that they'd recovered my bike. No word on the other bikes, but I felt good about the small victory. That said, the police were pretty tight-lipped about what had happened, telling me only that they'd "opened a can of worms".

This all actually happened on May 19.

Thanks to anybody that posted a sketchy ad or even looked. I'd have preferred to get one of my mountain bikes back, but I'll take what I can get.

Second Update: I'm pleased to say that I've replaced my '06 SX Trail with a '10 SX Trail. Obsession, who is my regular shop anyway, was absolutely awesome in getting me on a bike again. Sean/James/Matt/Other Matt/Lou/Andrew/Fraser were all fantastic, as usual, helping with everything: picking a size/doing a fit/setting up the suspension/fixing a couple of minor things. Best of all, I left with the exact bike i wanted (wanted to stick with a 170mm SX, not the 180mm '11 version), and had gone in unsure of what I'd find. It's got the same fork, a better shock/brakes/drivetrain than i used to have, and i even like the color. While I'm still sad about my '06 SX, I can't help but be stoked for my new ride.

The inner circles of hell are reserved for traitors, charlatans, and bike thieves.

You can thank my brother for asking me to help him find a commuter bike, otherwise I would have never clicked on a CL ad for a Scott Sub20. And greater to hear that the police proceeded so swiftly and made a difference. Let's see what's in this can of worms

Hope all goes well with everything else!

Yea buddy! Good stuff on the recovery of the Scott and its nice to hear there are good bikes shops to help a brother out when needed. Right on, hopefully its a good summer of riding for you

I'm happy to get outside and enjoy nature while I can, but I fear for the future of humanity
