Can anyone please help me ID this stolen (and spray-painted) bike?  Mfg. / model and year if at all possible.  Much appreciated.

Specialized Epic was my first guess. Not sure of the year, but it might head in the right direction if you kept digging.

Yours is a curvier downtube but seems to have the Specialized Y yoke off the rear of the shock.

Come on NSMB, this could be a fun challenge. What bike is that?  Let @Digital deal with the rest of the problem.

Id say Specialized is a very good guess. Id say its more likely to be something like a Stumpjumper though. I think its a 29er, which would explain the curve in the seat tube.

Good call. 2014 Stumpjumper FSR Comp Evo

https://www.specialized.com/gb/en/stumpjumper-fsr-comp-evo/p/49899?color=151526-49899

- shock is parallel to top tube

-triangular top tube to seat tube looks the same

-front shock mount the same solid design

-both have a Revelation fork and Fox shock with switches in same location

-M502 29 rims (the OP's rims show 2 digits "29" in the little grey box next to 502, not three "27.5").  The Spec has Rovals, but they are 29.

-OP's brakes seem to be not a SRA-mano bulkbarn standard. Formula C1's on the Spec.

-not necessarily a spray paint job, it could be this frame exactly. The OPs bike has a great paint job if it does - the pivots would have been all removed for paint.

I just don't like the alignment of the seat stay pivot bearing in relation to the shock yoke bearing, but that's likely the photo angle.
