Just got an email:

"Ski Season is Almost Here!

Your snow dances and Ullr sacrifices have paid off. Thanks to some great pre-season snow and prime temperatures for snowmaking Whistler Mountain is kicking off the 2015/16 season early, opening on Thursday, November 19. That's just 1 week away!"

Another email:

"The moment you have been waiting for has arrived. We're opening early! Whistler Mountain will open one week ahead of schedule on Thursday, November 19. The early opening has been made possible thanks to favourable early season conditions, including natural snowfall and prime temperatures for snowmaking.

With over 45cm (18in) to 75cm (29.5in) in the forecast at higher elevations over the next few days, things are shaping up for an incredible start to Whistler Blackcomb’s 50th anniversary season. Get the Details on Opening Day »"

Eh, forecast FL looks iffy next week, at least the heavier snow is good for building a solid base. Looks like it may cool off and have good vis after the system moves out, might make for good inbounds touring conditions which is more fun than battling on the groomers.
