I boarded on both today and it was quite possibly.. shit.

and with a clear forecast for the next few days, I expect the bumpy icy mess to get even worse. hoorah.

groomers might sort themselves out if it stays cold-ish. bring out the GS race skis!

when there ain't no freshies and the BC is too dangerous, or nasty, bring out the skinny skis and see how fast you can go on the groomers, or park it if you like that stuff…personelly I like to go 80km an hour….

Just poking fun at ya.

I think it was the marketing dept getting in an early season funny.

Between the Blackcomb forecast and online telemetry it's nice to not have to rely on the crap forecast they post.

our mtn forecasts always suck but to the GOOD I dunno where they measure but there is always more snow and its always better than they advertise

http://www.hudsonbaymountain.com/homepage

The mtn is advertising 122cm but the "Sandra-cam" sez we have had 170cms this month

go figure

don't ski so I can't really join ya there, and there's nothin to write home about in the park as of yet.

however today was actually pretty deeec. halfway through the day it started to get pretty powdery I had a good time.

Headed out to Oboe today after loading up on the Peak.

Some french F[HTML_REMOVED]ck Twad shit heads walked past us in the lineup. We commented to them, but didn't make a big issue, they stopped at us. So watch out for this new thing - four guys walking up the line to get ahead. Shitheads.

Anyway, we headed straight to Oboe trees. Very wind hammered above tree line on all aspects. SERIOUS whumping near the boundary posts on Flute and the top of Oboe. We dug down and found ~30cm of snow, facets under wind crust. We skied to the slope we wanted to ski and dug a pit.
130cm, 2 layers, 1st one failed on facets at CTM25. Much less consolidated snow pack in the trees. Oboe trees delivered.

Found some not bad snow out past East Col.

Bony on the ridges though.

probably not very… with this little snow it probably didn't grow that big, it might just be REALLY steep to get in. I'd be concerned with rocks.

Let us know! We were wondering about it!

had a quick look from top of disease at 19th, look like wind scoured mess. steep and tight to get in. ended up doing a couple of laps off lower disease instead. pretty decent snow and found a few lines that would be fun with a just a bit more snow. all those early season features are more fun than the wall of snow that is normally there.
