Have to think positively, this weekend there were no line ups!

Makes me wonder if the bike trails will open early, or the rain will put the damper on that too. Fucking rain……. At least snow creates a slow melting pack that can be used by our reservoirs throughout the spring and summer. The rain just flows back into the rivers, lakes and finally the ocean doing us no good.

How about this blast from the past.
Whistler January 28th, 2005.

The top of Excalibur:

Under Excelerator Chair:

The view of Whistler runs from Blackcomb - Bear Paw and Tokum

Not your typical valley view in January:

Very icy conditions, the T-bar area was ok.

Praying for the February dump…

If you're heading up bring your bikes. I hear River Runs Through it is ridable, as is Train Wreck.

Thanks to Sharon and LeeLau for the original post.

Maybe my buddy is right?
Our seasons are changing. The big dumps are coming later, while the season is starting later. The thought of a Jan-April riding season is a lot better than the thought of no season.

Unfortunately we may have been the last generation to experience an 1100cm base at Seymour, or 60cm of fresh weekend powder up at Hemlock.

I think that season was the one and only I didn't actually have a full pass….as grim as things have been this year, it certainly hasn't been that bad, and I had fun this weekend blasting slush regardless. Besides, challenging conditions make for strong legs once the pow returns, all ready for full days of smashing.

I'm already imagining what the pent up 'readiness' of passholders [HTML_REMOVED] tourists will look like at the base of Harmony or Peak chairs after a big dump this month. Schralped out by 11 and then rotate through the lesser known trees. Wash, rinse, repeat.

I'm glad you and so many in S2Scountry embrace the singletrack scene. This winter stuff is shaping up to be a huge sacrifice for very modest payoff.

Sorry guys, my fault. After a few years without a pass, I decided to drop in and get one this year. I jinxed it, I accept full responsibility.

I had one last year as well. Didn't really get my money's worth last year cause of the slow start. This year is unbelievable. I have 6 days in so far. No good news in the long range forecast either as far as I can tell.
