Which BC mountain to check out?

With a month off don't plan any specific spot western Canada/US.

Look at who is going to get hit with the best storm and chase it.

My most memorable trip started in Calgary, took me to Kicking Horse, Fernie, Squaw Valley, Kirkwood, Alta, Jackson Hole, Nelson, and some cat skiing back near Fernie.

Two weeks of storm chasing bliss.

Pack a sleeping bag and split nights between sleeping in the car and hostels.

Thanks for all the tips everyone. Yeah I think since it will still be early season (planning on going early-mid January) I will probably just wait and see which mountains have the most snow. My only worry is that I have an avg 2 wheel drive car with winter tires so don't want to venture too far where the driving can be sketchy…

Heck chains on a 2wd will go places most every crappy awd SUV with snows will get stuck.

I did a full tour of the province in a 2wd (front) 1991 honda civic, with snowies and chains. Fernie, Rogers Pass, Revy…
In some ways I preferred driving that car in the snow to my 1/2T. In some ways…

I went to do the Pow Highway a few years back. Got stuck in Nelson for most of the time! Seven days of catboarding will do that to you though

My goal is to get a Westy and a bad bitch and go ski-bumming it again.:cool:

I wouldn't recommend a trip over to Fernie just yet, we had +6 degrees today in town, yesterday from all accounts was almost spring riding conditions and several lifts are currently closed due to lack of people, lack of snow down low on the resort and some maintenance issues on another lift.

You can still find some fun pow pockets but its most certainly early season conditions here bud.
