I was looking at the Cypress website and they reckon 15th december, Whistler reckon end of November, any idea about Grouse or Seymore? What's typical for opening day? I'm heading home on 12th december for three weeks and would really like to get some riding in before then.

the last two years have been exceptional.

Id say the majority of years nothing gets going till the end of Dec if we are lucky.

on the local hills, open does not mean you should go there. it means they want to take tourists' money

^ once in a while a huge dump hits early and you get the goods. Mt washington dec 03 had 130 cm in 48 hours, and i was up for both those days

Why slag free swag?

ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.

Oct 25th 2006 there was a 2 ft in 2 days and thats down at valley bottom ,I got stuck at home with no snowies,[HTML_REMOVED]100 ft of driveway and a limping snow blower

my buddy was seakayaking at ootsa lake where there was 1 meter

A plow guy told me hunters paid him 500$ to plow out to their truck and follow them back ,everyone was unprepared for the early dump ,lots of loggers and contracters had their stuff buried until spring …you just never know

still the local hill never has their act togehter early enough for freak dumps

I went skiing on the first Saturday Cypress was open last year, and there wasn't any point in going. Only the bunny slope was open and it was just a bit snow and a lot of rough ice.
